Overall I think this project went relatively well. I had a blast making it and diving into old voicemails was a fun little nostalgia trip. I also think the critique went well, my classmates gave some really good feedback that I'll definitely take into account when we work the on the sound for the next project. Their main points of critique were about balancing audio levels, as some of the voicemail clips were a bit too loud and could've transitioned a little bit better.
In terms of content and subject matter though, most people in the class were able to identify my themes and story pretty well. I think I could've done a bit better of job when it came to tone though as I feel like my finished project came out a little too eerie and unsettling, come pared to how I envisioned it to sound.
Besides the not fully executing how I wanted the tone to feel I think that I was effective in what I was trying to say and do with this project. I wanted it to feel pretty personal and internalized, and I think this came across.
It felt like this project really helped me feel a little more confident with sound mixing though, which is something I've struggled with while making projects in the past. I feel like I've gained some solid knowledge while playing around with Adobe Audition, and already have some cool ideas for how I want to approach sound in the next video project.
